JAKARTA, 20-04-17. The ASEAN Regional Disaster Emergency Response Simulation Exercise
(ARDEX) is a signature exercise of the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) which aims to test, practice and review ASEAN’s disaster management and emergency response mechanisms. The most recent ARDEX was held in Brunei Darussalam on 28 November 2016.
Today, the AHA Centre and supported by the GIZ, GIDRM and SDC, conducted the Post-ARDEX Review Meeting to capture and to follow up the recommendations coming from the after-action-review from ARDEX 2016. The specific objectives is to:
- Follow-up on the recommendations and findings after the conduct of ARDEX-16 in Brunei Darussalam;
- Update the SASOP based on the recommendations and findings from ARDEX-16;
- Review and update the ARDEX Handbook based on the lessons learnt in the design process, preparation and conduct of ARDEX-16 and
- Review and update the ARDEX Referee Manual.
The meeting was attended by representatives from ASEAN Member States, ASEAN Secretariat as well as partners to ARDEX 2016.
